The latest issue of the Andpersand has the super-sensational Minissha Lamba on its cover page. Her eyes say it all. They are enough to make the most handsome guy shed a look on her. Minissha always wanted to be a journalist, but eventually she took up acting as her career and now she is one of the hottest diva of Bollywood.

One might not know that, with CNN's international correspondent Christiane Amanpour for inspiration, Minisha would have loved to interview the likes of Sonia Gandhi, Martin Luther King, John Lennon and James Dean , in that order. She also speaks all about her pastimes, films and also gives a few word of wisdom like "The novelty of the bikini should have worn off by now, especially the kind of shows you have on cable TV".

She is simply unbeatable when it comes to giving interviews. And this interview is surely a standing testimony.

Of late Minissha Lamba has the talk of the time. First she was sweet and cute babe in Bachna Ae Haseeno where she was paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor. And then just as everyone thought she could only play the sweet, innocent roles, she proved them wrong donning a white bikini in Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap.

Post Kidnap, everyone has been talking about new hottie Minissha's image make-over. Minissha features on the cover of fashion & style magazine 'Seventeen' in the October issue and even though she is seen drapped in a pink saree with golden yellow polka dots, she certainly looks appealing.

Celebs walk the ramp to raise breast cancer awareness at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

Observing the Breast Cancer Awareness month, a line-up of celebrities and socialites sashayed across the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp to spread the cause and show creativity of designer duo Falguni-Shane Peacock.

Falguni and Shane, who did the show for lifestyle care brand Fiama Di Wills, said the cause was very close to their heart as the former's mother was diagnosed and cured of breast cancer at an early stage.

The collection was all about exaggerated gowns which created an elaborate red carpet look in shades of reds, smoky grey, blush pinks, purples and off-whites. There were bejewelled ensembles in voluminous gowns with pink bows that signified the international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Feathers flounced from shoulders and sleeves of gowns with hems of varying lengths. The cloth - more of organza - was bunched up and twisted with detailing like origami folds, and multiple tiers, pleated and folded to give a grand look.

Minissha, who walk the ramp for Falguni and Shane said:

Women need to wake up and please take care. Our health is our biggest priority and the essence and beauty of a woman lies truly in her breasts. Fashion was a very good way to promote breast cancer awareness as it celebrates feminity and womanhood.'

Apart from the show, Falguni and Shane are also setting up an auction for a special peacock dress that is short, a halter cut and heavily bejewelled. Even the outfit that jewellery designer Farah Ali Khan flaunted, would be auctioned at the WIFW venue Friday. The money collected from the show would be utilised towards breast cancer afflicted women who cannot afford proper treatment.

Minissha Lamba Dons a Two Piece in October Issue of Maxim

She is the Goddess of Beauty who has only added glitters to the already glittering cover of the recent issue of Maxim. She is none other than Minissha Lamba, who has, today, deservingly become not just the talk but also the toast of the town.

She had only recently 'kidnapped' every cinegoer's dream with her star-tling screen presence in the recent flick Kidnap. Even though the film saw a roller coaster collections at the Box-Office windows, but everyone who saw the film was hypnotized by Minissha's dose.

Here comes the real shocker! If one has to ask this lasso out on a date, then, the best way is disclosed by the lady herself. Minissha says that "The surefire way to score a date with me is not to show too much interest...I like it when someone keeps me guessing!"

This one will surely serve as 'Dummies guide to woo Minissha Lamba'. She confesses that she is not someone who is easy to approach. One will only manage to score those brownie points on intelligence. Standard pickup lines just do not happen in Minissha's life. And even a conversation does not lead to a date, as she does not give her telephone number.

Sad...but as they say...such is life.

Movie Review of Kidnap

KIDNAP falls short of expectations. You expect a seven course meal, but you're served mere crumbs.
The boy versus man concept holds tremendous scope and writer Shibani Bathija could've come up with an enthralling revenge drama. But KIDNAP fumbles, stumbles and falls on its face. The cat-n-mouse game is hardly enticing and that is its biggest drawback.
KIDNAP comes close to ZINDA in terms of plotline. There're similarities between the two films. But KIDNAP isn't as dark and gruesome as ZINDA. It loses focus after a promising start.

The hallmark of any revenge fare is the suspense quotient. In this case, there's a motive behind what Imran does. And money is definitely not the motive here. So far, so good. But the purpose of kidnapping the billionaire's only daughter as also the chain of events that lead to the culmination is such a put-off. Things keep deteriorating as they reach the finale.

Never judge a book by its cover. This adage suits KIDNAP to the T. One look at its promos and you know what the story is, but the screenplay is amateurish, even lifeless at times.
Gadhvi and Shibani open the cards at the very outset. The sketches at the very beginning as also Minissha's kidnap within 10 minutes of the start compels to think that the follow up should be equally exhilarating. But things start going wrong from this part onwards.

Sanjay Gadhvi is letdown by a script that easily ranks amongst the worst of 2008. Pritam's music is another sore point. Barring the 'Mit Jaaye' track, the remaining songs are lacklustre. Bobby Singh's camerawork is first-rate.

KIDNAP belongs to Imran Khan. He carries the cold look effortlessly. Sanjay Dutt looks disinterested, as if he is about to break into a yawn. Minissha Lamba is miscast. The generous dose of skin show doesn't gel with someone who's held captive. Vidya Malvade is efficient. Reema Lagoo is a mere prop. Rahul Dev's character looks forced.

On the whole, KIDNAP fails to grip you and that is its biggest flaw. At the box-office, KIDNAP being teen sensation Imran Khan's immediate release after the blockbuster hit JAANE TU… YA JAANE NA would ensure a strong opening weekend, but the poor merits are sure to take a toll once the initial euphoria subsides.
