Asin to receive highest civilian honour from Tamil Nadu government

After her memorable Bollywood debut with Ghajini last year, Asin's career has taken an upward curve. While her act in Ghajini fetched her the 'Best Debutant Award' at all the major award functions, Asin is all set to add yet another feather to her cap.

Asin would be receiving the Kalaimamani award which is the highest civilian honour given by the Tamil Nadu government. This will also be Asin's 150th award of her career. The award will be presented to her by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi.

Well it seems that after God and air it is Asin who is everywhere. After the huge success of Ghajini, she is on the wish list of most of the directors. And why directors and filmmakers, this girl is now also followed every where by the brand managers too. Every mag. publisher wants her as the cover girl.

Well, this time she appears on the cover of the latest edition of 'Hi! Blitz'. Here she is actually giving all the rose flowers a huge inferiority complex in that pink dress of hers. 'It takes one beauty to enhance another', Asin just proves the saying. She looks superb in the mountain clad mountains and the tranquil waters at the breathtaking picturesque locations of Kashmir, the true-blue abode of Gods.

Words can never be enough to describe this deadly combination of Nature's eternal two gifts to mankind: Kashmir and Asin. So one has to pick up the latest edition of Hi! Blitz to enjoy Nature at its best.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi defeated by Ghajini

Aamir Khan’s Ghajini has emerged as the biggest money-spinner of 2008 leaving behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which is a moderate hit. Ghajini has collected Rs 100 crore in the first week itself and is set to become one of the greatest hits ever.

It started with a grand opening earning Rs 32 crores while Rab Ne.. made only Rs 10 crore. Rs 32 crore is considered a smash amount for the first week’s collection but Ghajini achieved the amount on the first day itself.

Together the two movies have brought great cheer to the industry, which had been dogged by many large-scale debacles. The two super hits have belied the fear that the industry would be hit by the recession as well as by the terror attacks on Mumbai.

The success of Ghajini is attributed to its aggressive marketing strategy. Releases of 2009 may learn a thing or two from the success of Ghajini
