Celebs walk the ramp to raise breast cancer awareness at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

Observing the Breast Cancer Awareness month, a line-up of celebrities and socialites sashayed across the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp to spread the cause and show creativity of designer duo Falguni-Shane Peacock.

Falguni and Shane, who did the show for lifestyle care brand Fiama Di Wills, said the cause was very close to their heart as the former's mother was diagnosed and cured of breast cancer at an early stage.

The collection was all about exaggerated gowns which created an elaborate red carpet look in shades of reds, smoky grey, blush pinks, purples and off-whites. There were bejewelled ensembles in voluminous gowns with pink bows that signified the international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Feathers flounced from shoulders and sleeves of gowns with hems of varying lengths. The cloth - more of organza - was bunched up and twisted with detailing like origami folds, and multiple tiers, pleated and folded to give a grand look.

Minissha, who walk the ramp for Falguni and Shane said:

Women need to wake up and please take care. Our health is our biggest priority and the essence and beauty of a woman lies truly in her breasts. Fashion was a very good way to promote breast cancer awareness as it celebrates feminity and womanhood.'

Apart from the show, Falguni and Shane are also setting up an auction for a special peacock dress that is short, a halter cut and heavily bejewelled. Even the outfit that jewellery designer Farah Ali Khan flaunted, would be auctioned at the WIFW venue Friday. The money collected from the show would be utilised towards breast cancer afflicted women who cannot afford proper treatment.

Minissha Lamba and Sameera Reddy walked the ramp at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

It was a Bollywood shot for the Fashion Week yet again. Minissha Lamba and Sameera Reddy dazzled the audience as they walked in outfits designed by designers Falguni and Shane. Minissha dressed in a pearl white short dress looked very delicate with her petite frame. Sameera was dressed in a dull pink evening dress with the feathery touch - signature style of the designer duo.

Sameera looked ravishing as the dull pink colour accentuated her complexion. Dramatic and glamorous - the creation brought out the two sides of modern woman, who is sensuous as well as sensitive and caring. Bold colours of canary yellow, shocking pinks, midnight black, deep mauves and chocolate mousse was very refreshing.

The two Bollywood beauties looked much at ease on the ramp.

Riya Sen walks the ramp at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week got its first touch of Bollywood as Riya Sen walked the ramp for Ranna Gill. Riya sashayed down the ramp wearing a heavily embellished skirt and heavy necklace.

Ranna Gill's collection called 'Nirvana' complete with bright and vivid colors. The dresses were very wearable and had a variety. There were dresses for daily wear and for special evenings.

This collection is all about colors and femininity with interesting bead work and my signature style-print," Said Gill. Elegance was contrasted with muted color palette of teal blue, mustard, off whites, cherry, grape and rose pink.

The evening wears with not so over the top shimmer and geometric motifs are eclectic piece of art. However, the focus around the neck and back exhibits the finer nuances of designing.

As for the material, Gill mostly used jersey fabric, linen and emphasized crystals. Gill's outfits start at Rs.4,500 and go higher as the detailing and work increases.

Deepika Padukone walks the ramp on Day 2 of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

Deepika Padukone was one of the top models in India before she became a film actress. She leads the Bollywood charge in the Delhi fashion weeks. She will walk the runway for designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil's Fiama Di Wills collection on Day 2 of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week,

The other big attraction is Shilpa Shetty, who appears on Tarun Tahiliani's Collection. She recently wore a Rs 2.5-crore dress at a Tahiliani show.

Boxer Vijender Singh walks the ramp at the Delhi Fashion Week for Rohit Bal. Actor Shahid Kapur is expected to hit the ramp on Day 4 of WLIFW for Vikram Phadnis.

Among other Bollywood hotties are Shweta Salve, to model for Nisha Merchant; Chitrangada Singh for Anita Dongre; and the Sensisters - Riya and Raima - for Varun Bahl.
