Govinda plans for an Action Film with Stunts of International Caliber

CHICHI is looking for a changein his acting career.After been known for his comic roles, he's for the moment bidding adieu to laughter to embrace action. The preparation has started in all seriousness. Govinda has got himself a martial arts and physical trainer and is working on his physique and agility.

"I've done action films in the past like Hatya and Shola Aur Shabnam. But they weren't full-on actioners. I now want to do an action film with stunts of an international caliber. I don't want to just plunge into it without being fully prepared. I've already lost a lot of weight. But it isn't enough. I want to lose some more." said Govinda.

He intends to star in at least one movie per year, but for his own banner and the role will be of a supporting actor.

Shahrukh has already started looking for land in Dubai where he intends to build housing and shopping complexes. It is on this patch of land that Shahrukh will build his much famous abode Mannat. He has already told his wife Gauri to make the plans and get the ideal design created. It has to be identical to Mannat in Mumbai.

SRK wants to quit Smoking

Welcoming with some reluctance Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss’s efforts to make India smoke-free, actor Shahrukh Khan on Thursday said he would try his best to quit smoking.

Shahrukh said, “it is a good step to make sure that the country is smoke free. Better step would be to ban cigarettes, make them illegal and hang any one who is smoking. We cannot do that as India is a democratic country.”

However, he said he think that everybody should follow the ban. “I hope everyone call upon their good self to do it. I myself would try my best,” he added.

Shahid makes Aamir His Guru

After the success of ‘Jab We Met’ one would have liked to see more of Shahid Kapur and when Kismat Konnection hit the theatresone had expected a lot of it. The film did an average business & more was expected of Shahid.

Talking about Shahid’s rising film career, the actor believes in doing one film at a time.

“I started off with Ishq Vishq which was a campus film and it did well in spite of me and Ken being new to this business. I am 27 today and with time I have realized that it’s important to focus on one thing at a time. I work better if I do one film at a time and I do my best when I am more focussed. I have signed Yash Raj’s film with Rani, I’ll also be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey and Ken Ghosh’s Yahoo but all films won’t be worked on simultaneously by me.” Says Shahid

Vivacious, angel face, dimpled beauty Minissha Lamba doesn’t mind being called all that. The picture-perfect actor has come a long way from playing the lead in the off-beat Yahan, to doing a second lead in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Corporate, a cameo in Dus Kahaniyan and a lead role in Bachna Ae Haseeno.

One just can’t ignore the confidence in her voice. In fact, people are already talking about her ‘with it’ costumes in the film —patialas teamed with halter tops and denim jackets — which are a rage among youngsters already. Minissha laughs artlessly, “Really,
the clothes suit Mahi, the character I play. I didn’t think of making a fashion statement consciously, but sure if I become more visible thanks to them, it’s fun.”Working in the film was a breeze, especially since there were no catfights.

We girls really didn’t have any scenes together. But we shot a promotional song together and it is amazing working with Bipasha and Deepika.” Talking about Bipasha with whom she worked in Corporate, she says, “Even if she’s a successful actor, Bipasha is friendly, down-to-earth and very endearing. I didn’t get to know her too well, but I’d like to do more films with her.”

And what about poster boy, Ranbir Kapoor? “Well, he’s a very talented actor. He’s easy to get along with and a true gentleman. Working with him was fun and a fabulous experience,” she gushes.

For someone who wanted to be a journalist early in life, what has she imbibed as an actor? “The growing process is on. I need to learn lot more from here. The three years that I spent in the profession have been worth a life-time experience. I’ve become more professional and aware of my surroundings,” replies Minissha.

Minissha doesn’t have any regrets in life. “What’s the point? I think one needs to learn from one’s mistakes. My mistakes have taught me and I am sure they will make me a better person in future.”

A graduate in English literature, Delhi lass Minissha always maintains a low profile. That’s a deliberate decision. She says she does that because “every actor should let her work do the talking. I don’t need to do publicity stunts to be noticed. I think I do good work and that should be good enough for me.”

For now, the headturner is “very single” and yes, by her own admission, “ready to mingle.” So, all you eligible singles out there, dream on!
