Kidnap to Rock the Theatres on Eid

Kidnap is a high octane edge of the seat drama about a power tussle between a young boy and the father of the girl he kidnaps. It is an important film in many respects. It will prove that director Sanjay Gadhvi can dabble with genres other than his action series, Dhoom.

The film stars Sanjay Dutt. Interestingly, Kidnap would be Sanjay Dutt's first release in 2008. In 2007, he delivered two big hits in Dhamaal and Shootout At Lokhandwala. Kidnap's shooting was shelved as it got stuck due to date problems after Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to jail by a TADA court for possession of illegal weapons. In Kidnap, he plays the role of a Indian multimillionaire divorcee based in New York. Vidya Malvade plays his estranged wife and Minissha Lamba his daughter who is kidnapped on her 18th birthday.

Minissha Lamba plays Sonia. She is kidnapped by Kabir (Imran), who is only interested in speaking to her father with whom he has to settle an old score. Vikrant Raina (Dutt's character) then returns to India to save his daughter from the kidnapper. In return, the abductor sets out conditions for Kabir to rescue her. At the end of each task is a clue that helps Vikrant in coming closer to Sonia. Is his mission as easy as it seems? How far will a father go to save his daughter? What redemption is there for Kabir at the end?

The film is surely a worth watch for three reasons:-
Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan and director Sanjay Gadhvi.
Imran Khan has proved his mettle by giving the biggest hit of the year so far in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na while Sanjay Dutt in his own right is an established star.
As for Gadhvi, the director has given back to back hits with Dhoom and Dhoom 2. Truly looking forward to this one.

Kidnap makes for compelling viewing as the big festival release on Eid. It features music by Pritam. Watch out for the film, as it releases on October 2.
