Underworld targets Bollywood’s top celebs

Ronnie Screwala is now the newest target of underworld extortion after a number of Bollywood celebs have confessed to being threatened. The dark criminal world of Mumbai has been haunting Bollywood for ages, but recently the bigger name of the industry is been targeted.

On July 11, six people, alleged associates of Pujari broke into UTV’s office seeking for Screwala. Prior to this, Rakesh Roshan was shot at while leaving from his office at Santa Cruz on January 21, 2000. During the release of ‘Krrish’, Roshan’s anti-piracy campaign gave another reason to underworld for extortion; Prita Zinta was also demanded for an amount of 50 lakhs for a film named ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ in 2000.

Sonakshi says yes to Salman Khan

After much speculations regarding Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi joining the Bollywood bandwagon, the star kid has finally accepted to act opposite Salman Khan in a flick produced by Arbaaz Khan.

Sonakshi had earlier declined down the offer as she was keen on being a fashion designer. Yet Salman kept asking the girl and finally she gave in!

Salman was impressed when he saw Sonakshi walk the ramp during a fashion week. After the show, Salman immediately went up to her and asked her to star opposite him in Arbaaz’s film. Sonakshi did not immediately take up the offer. But Salman convinced her.Salman was completely awed by Sonakshi slimmer looks and kept pursuing her parents until they finally yielded.

Arbaaz’s film is being directed by Abhinav. It is expected to hit the floors within a couple of months.

Yuvraaj is a Complete Write -Off

Right since the day showman Subhash Ghai declared this movie to the day of the release, we have read innumerable news reports about it. Yuvvraaj is outright one of Ghai's worst products. So bad that even Katrina's charm will not be able save it!

Yuvvraaj is a story of three estranged brothers – Gyanesh Yuvvraaj (Anil Kapoor), Deven Yuvvraaj (Salman Khan) and Danny Yuvvraaj (Zayed Khan). The eldest brother Gyanesh is autistic and is the son of the first wife of Yogendra Yuvvraaj Singh (Jawed Sheikh). Deven is thrown out of home because he gets jealous of Gyanesh and asks for his share of property. Danny is brought up as the only heir to the property. But Yogendra's death turns the table around as Gyanesh is nominated as the only heir. Deven needs money so that he can marry his love Anushka (Katrina Kaif) and Danny needs it so that he can pay off his debts and live the way he is used to. There is also evil mama (Anjan Srivastav) who wants his own share.

The story is actually interesting and could have definitely been better with sensible direction and better characterisation. But the screenplay is unexplainable and the dialogues are dated. The cinematography is inconsistent. While the landscapes look awesome, the more-than-regular and extreme close-ups are unpleasant. Ghai should have hired a good editor rather than spending mega bucks on the locations which hardly add anything to the film. Music is probably the only high point of the movie but that too not throughout. Just a couple of songs are good.

Performances in Yuvvraaj, unlike most other Subhash Ghai films, are as weak as the rest of the film. Except of course Anil Kapoor's which lifts the film every time it comes in.

Salman in tears for Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh spoke about his spat which took place at Katrina’s birthday bash regularly, but Salman has hardly spoken in media.Like King Khan, Salman was also hurt for loosing a close friend. Salman was uninvited at SRK’s birthday but his family graces the occasion. While speaking to media about the fight, he was in tears.

When asked what he thinks about his family participating Shahrukh’s party, he remarked, "If they want to participate in SRK’s family events they are more than welcome to do that. But don’t you think that it’s a kind of a joke that from one side it’s straight from the heart one family and from one family it’s straight from the brain?"

Salman then went onto state that it was Shahrukh who told the media about their little disagreement. "As soon as Shahrukh left the party, he started calling up the media! I didn’t speak till one week after the fight because he was trying to put me in the middle of something which is not cool from any angle! That is the time I stood up and started speaking. There is no reason for disrespect. Everybody messes up. I have messed up also not once but so many times, without any malice, any manipulation or agenda. If things go wrong between two buddies we say 'okay buddy let’s hang out together and sort it out' but if you are going to mess up and disrespect me then forget it,” said a tearful Salman.

Hope, the two patch up soon and become bosom friends again.

Music Review of Yuvraaj

Subhash Ghai, A.R.Rahman and Gulzar, all are great names have teamed up for the first time to create history with YUVVRAAJ. Since the film is a musical drama and some of the lead protagonists play musicians, so naturally the scope for audio brilliance gets wider.

The magnificence of the album is immediately brought to the attention of the listener with the first track, "Main Hoon Yuvvraaj ". The track is a befitting introduction to the main protagonist of the film, Deven Yuvraj, played by Salman Khan. Salman's dialogues are well supported by the "Fifth of Beethovan". Ludwig van Beethovan needs no introduction to the followers of Western classical music and this is the fifth symphony. It is one of the most popular and well-known compositions in all of European classical music. A. R. Rahman has chosen this particular piece because Beethovan himself had dedicated this symphony to two of his patrons, one of whom was Prince Franz Joseph von Lobkowitz.
After such a start we move forward to come across another brilliantly crafted "Tu Meri Dost Hain". The lilting signature tune sung by A.R.Rahman. Rahman's melody is breathtakingly simple and comes as whiff of fresh air in this era of mediocrity and plagiarism. The musical arrangements are mind-blowing- simple guitar strums, bead sounds and of course the cello. Gulzar's lyrics are simple yet classy and very much identifiable, giving an insight into the relationship shared by the two main protagonists of the film, Salman and Katrina. In other words, simply fantabulous!

Next Rahman targets the Gen X with "Shano Shano" a very contemporary and in sync with today's time dance floor composition. The tune is not very refreshing but nevertheless manages to catch attention. It has the requisite thump, required disco beats, the usual rap quite unique as well as funny style of singing by a host of artists like Sonu Nigam, Srinivas, Karthik, Timmy, Sunaina, Vivienne Pocha and Tina. What must be kept in mind is that the picturisations will be superb and so it will definitely serve as a tension reliever. The "Shano Shano" remix by Krishna Chetan is a superbly handled composition. The rap is better than the original .The remix even has Salman saying in a deep husky voice, 'Main main main Yuvvraaj', and 'Ladies come closer, I am the Casanova', a throwback to Ghai's very own KHALNAYAK song.
Lata Mangeshkar, holds fort in this soothing love ballad , "Tu Muskura" and Javed Ali who impressed all with "Jashne Bahara" supports her with his high octave singing. The melody is on the slower side but the result still superb. The Western musical arrangements do make up for this slow pace and the use of cello, guitar and the culmination with Hindustani classical alaaps in the end; make the number a pure delight. Gulzar's lyrics are the outstanding feature of the track. The pristine feeling of unselfish love is expressed superbly through some very beautifully penned wordings.

Ajay-Salman on the Sets of London Dreams

After basking in the success of his last film Singh is Kinng for a while, Vipul Amrutlal Shah is back to business. The producer-director is busy filming his next directorial venture London Dreams in and around the British capital.

The film stars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan in lead roles while South sensation Asin is the female lead. Its is after almost a decade that Ajay and Salman are acting together and fans would be eagerly looking forward to see if they can recreate the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam magic all over again. As for Asin, she surely seems to be making all the right moves in Bollywood; after having worked with Aamir Khan in Ghajini, she will now be seen opposite Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan in London Dreams.


The trio was spotted shooting some pivotal scenes in London recently. Ajay looks dapper in his suit as usual but a striking feature is the studs that he is sporting on his ear. As for Sallu, he looks every bit the 'Rockstar' that he is in his blue and green checked shirt while Asin is seen looking lovely in the lavender dress.

With such a stellar cast and Vipul Shah at the helm of things, London Dreams surely is touted to be among the biggies next year.

Salman-Aish to Reunite on the Silver Screen.

Salman Khan may be a sordid chapter in the life of Aishwarya Rai but he is ready to bury the past and share screen space with her in an upcoming project.

Abhishek Bachchan may now be the real life heartthrob of Aishwarya but the couple that set the screen on fire is the Salman Khan- Aishwarya Rai Jodi. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was the last time the pair scorched the screen with their on screen chemistry.

Now Aishwarya Rai is Mrs Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan is ready to forgive his ex-flame. He has agreed to share screen space with her in an upcoming movie to be directed by Priyadarshan.However it is not a full-fledged romantic pairing for the duo in the movie. Salman Khan is just doing a cameo. Apparently Salman believes in taking small steps

Nevertheless the two ex-lovers have a few scenes together and this is the opportunity for them to forgive and forget and move on.

SRK still the smartest Actor

A lot has been said about the Shahrukh and Salman spat during Katrina's birthday bash. The real cause of the argument has however remained a mystery.Salman suspected Shahrukh of trying to deport Katrina Kaif back to London. Katrina who was born in Hong Kong is a British citizen.

Trouble started when Vishal Punjabi one of Shahrukh's employee was deported back to Ghana after he was found working without proper documents. During the party SRK was sitting with Congress MP Rajiv Shukla and said many stars in Bollywood were working without valid papers pointing towards Katrina. A close friend of Salman overheard the conversation and reported it to him.

Salman then came over to Rajiv Shukla and inquired about Shahrukh's comments. Shukla denied having discussed any such issue with Shahrukh. Salman finally lost his temper and had a heated exchange of words with Shahrukh. Till now many believed that the bad boy Salman had overreacted in the party.

If this was the actual reason for the spat well SRK has again proved he is the most street smart star in the industry.

Katrina Watch Out , Somi Ali is Looking for Salman

Salim Khan is a worried soul these days. The reason being son Salman Khan's many health issues. He was heard telling Salman that it's high time he gets married it can be Somy Ali if Katrina thiks she is busy. "I want someone to take care of you," said the concerned father.

Salman ended up with a sprained ankle while shooting for 10 Ka Dum as he danced wearing the wrong kind of footwear. The pain was so bad that he had to cancel all his shoots including that of Yuvraaj. To add to his woes the food that he picked up on his way to his farmhouse in Panvel resulted in food poisoning and Salman kept throwing up for a long time. But the much harassed Boney Kapoor, whose film Wanted Dead And Alive has met with many postponements already, was at his heels and landed up at his farmhouse and got Salman to shoot some scene.

Poor Salman had to shoot for him with an injured leg. He may be the Bad Boy of B' Town alright but it is always told that Salman Khan is a kind hearted soul.
