Asin to receive highest civilian honour from Tamil Nadu government

After her memorable Bollywood debut with Ghajini last year, Asin's career has taken an upward curve. While her act in Ghajini fetched her the 'Best Debutant Award' at all the major award functions, Asin is all set to add yet another feather to her cap.Asin would be receiving the Kalaimamani award which is the highest civilian honour given by the Tamil Nadu government. This will also be Asin's 150th award of her career. The award will be presented to her by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi.

Forrest Gump could be Aamir's next Project

After the mega success of Ghajini, which was a remake of a Tamil Movie, Aamir Khan is looking at a Hollywood hit for his next venture. Aamir Khan is totally transfixed by Forrest Gump, the Tom Hanks picture that grossed millions in 1996.
The movie has impressed Aamir so much that on being asked which film he would choose to do as a Hindi remake after Ghajini, he says, “It’s Tom Hank’s Forrest Gump."
Forrest Gump is the story of a man with a low IQ. He accomplishes great things in his life and is present during significant historical events. But despite all that he has achieved, his one true love eludes him. The film is a 1994 comedy-drama. It is based on the 1986 novel by Winston Groom.
His current movie Ghajini is also a remake of the Tamil film of the same name and Aamir says that the concept of 15 minutes of memory loss impressed him very much.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi defeated by Ghajini

It started with a grand opening earning Rs 32 crores while Rab Ne.. made only Rs 10 crore. Rs 32 crore is considered a smash amount for the first week’s collection but Ghajini achieved the amount on the first day itself.
Together the two movies have brought great cheer to the industry, which had been dogged by many large-scale debacles. The two super hits have belied the fear that the industry would be hit by the recession as well as by the terror attacks on Mumbai.
The success of Ghajini is attributed to its aggressive marketing strategy. Releases of 2009 may learn a thing or two from the success of Ghajini

Sachin Tendulkar shocked by Aamir Khan

Aamir’s new look where he shows his eight-pack in ‘Ghajini’ posters, forced even the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar to believe that it was courtesy digital enhancement technologies. But, he was speechless when informed that it was all for real and not the graphic effects.
It surprised Sachin but he was simply awed on learning that Aamir did actually follow a strict and strenuous regime to get those ‘perfect’ abs. When Sachin saw Aamir’s look in ‘Ghajini’, he just couldn’t believe his eyes and immediately sent a message to Aamir saying that he was looking nice in the ‘digitally manipulated pictures.
Obviously, Aamir was quick on replying that it was actually the result of an year’s rigorous training that helped him get a body like that. Aamir had also promised Sachin that he would be the first person to see the first cut of Ghajini. Right before Ghajini was sent to the Censor Board, Aamir invited Sachin to the editing studio in Bandra to see the film.
Sachin, and his wife Anjali, saw the film. They loved the film. And yes, Sachin finally believed that it was actually his body on the posters of the film.
