Kareena Kapoor to be presented with reward by Erin Brokovich

The grl wth the looks and charm - Kareena Kapoor is going great guns these days. First she gets a dream come true project “3 Idiots”with the perfectionist -Aamir Khan and now Bebo will now be presented an award for her contribution to art and cinema in February, by none other than the world-renowned environmental activist Erin Brokovich!

Erin Brokovich is an American legal clerk and an environmentalist despite no formal education in law. One might remember that Hollywood diva Julia Roberts had played the title of 'Erin' in “Erin Brokovich”, which fetched Julia an award for the Best Actress.

To present the award to Kareena, Erin is reported to be air dashing to Mumbai. Needless to say, life couldn't have just been better for Kareena.

'Slumdog Millionaire' drawn to court in Patna

Slum dwellers in Patna continued to protest Monday against Oscar-nominated film 'Slumdog Millionaire', demanding the film's makers remove the word dog from the title.

The protesters said their sensibilities had been offended by the title, which they said was abusiving of people of the slums. The protests continued for the second day in Patna. A group of slum dwellers showed thier anger by not letting showing of the film at Ashok cinema hall while some protesters tore down posters and banners of the film.

The Jhuggi Jhonpdi Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti threatened to burn the film's director Danny Boyle in effigy. 'We will burn Danny Boyle in effigy in 56 slums here,' Tapeshwar Vishwakarma, general secretary of the group said.

Vishwakarma has filed a petition in the court charging the movie's music director A.R. Rahman, actor Anil Kapoor and other Indians associated with the film with abusing slum dwellers in the name of entertainment. A copy of the petition has been sent to the National Human Rights Commission, Bihar State Human Rights Commission and the Central Board of Film. The first hearing of the petition is scheduled Feb 5.
